A New Decade, A New Sound

As we celebrate the coming of a New Year and step into a new decade, it's becoming apparent that the art form of hip hop is undergoing a transition as well. With the arrival of new artists such as Drake, Kid Cudi, and the members of Young Money/Cash Money, hip hop fans across the globe can expect nothing but good music. However it has been mentioned that some of the most influential names in hip hop, like Jay-Z and Nas, won't stand the test of time and by the end of the decade, their lyrical relevancy will die out. Though that is an unfortunate possibility, many experts disagree and argue that although the big names might not be lyrically active, they'll still maintain an undeniable presence behind the scenes as producers, directors, and even lable owners and executives. Even if the Jay-Z's and Nas’ decision about gracefully bowing out the talent, it will remain undeniable. As hip hop and its artists continue to grow and branch out the world, along with the gift of a new decade, they will receive the gift of a new sound, something trully amazing
